Lesson 1

Rainbow Love Journal

I love starting out my art courses by making a journal. It is so fun to create your own little book to practice in and explore new techniques. Not only do I guide you through the process, but I will be chatting about what the colors represent in the rainbow lineup. We will play with brush strokes, transparency, and layers using watercolors which will make fabulous background pages for you either write in or draw. I will be including some of my favorite inspirational quotes as well.

Lesson 2

Elegant Rose Portrait

One of my favorite ways to draw flowers is by having a live one right next to me so I can study the lines and shape and illustrate what my eye can see. I walk you through these flower studies from beginning to end. We will start with a pencil drawing, then add on permanent black pen before painting in our beautiful rose with watercolor. It’s a nod to the botanical drawing without being too serious! Included in this course is a Bonus Video on some of my other drawings in this style, one that is a mediative practice of using your eye and hand while creating something beautiful.

Lesson 3

Joyful Tulip Bouquet

I love the way tulips change each day, opening up with color and size. They are one of my favorite flowers to draw because of all the beautiful lines. In this study, we will be recreating one of my earlier tulip drawings as you don’t always have the real flower to practice. There is a wealth of floral inspiration out there to find!

Lesson 4

Abstract Florals

I will take on you on a color explosion of liquid watercolors and mixed media art supplies! This is one of my favorite lessons in the course, and we will have so much fun letting the paint flow and do its magic. ​ Layer by layer we will build up a gorgeous floral bouquet that is abstract and loose. Inspired by the incredible colors of garden flowers and the joy that they give. This lesson is all about play and experimenting, and finding the beauty in our art practice!
